The Rochester City Council has issued a formal proclamation opposing a national Concealed Carry Reciprocity law working its way through Congress.
The law would require states to recognize pistol permits issued by other states. It would allow a person with a New York Pistol permit to carry his-or-her weapon in any other state and vice-versa.
Councilmember Molly Clifford says the entire council is unanimous in opposition and believes each state should be allowed to adopt its own gun regulations.
