United States Senator Chuck Schumer is calling on Windstream CEO Tony Thomas to ensure continued employment of about 1,000 Windstream and Earthlink employees in Rochester, now that the two companies are merging. Schumer says the jobs are critical to Rochester. Communications industry analysts have predicted some positions will be redundant with the merge.
