There’s a new way to get around the City of Rochester, especially downtown. Mayor Lovely Warren and officials from Zagster officially launched a new bike share program today.

Bike pickup and drop off stations have been set up around the city, outside the Transit Center and 45 other locations. There are 340 bikes available for short term rental. You download the app, open it on your smartphone, link it to your credit card and then a tap unlocks the next bike in line for you. Returning them is just as easy.

Zagster co-founder Tim Ericson says most trips in the U.S. are under three miles, which is perfect for biking. The company already has 160 such programs in two-thirds of the United States.
