Not if you’re trying to get from Rochester to Brockport, anyway.
West-siders will be confronted by a new traffic issue Monday morning: the New York State Department of Transportation is closing the westbound side of Route 31 from Washington Street to Campbell road.
The closure is part of the Route 531 project. Route 31 eastbound will stay open. The deout for 31 west will be Manitou Road north to Route 104, then back south on 260, or Sweden-Walker Road, to rejoin Route 31. Most importantly, you can still drive all the way to Washington Street on 531, but you won’t be able to turn right to get on 31. You have to take the detour.
This will be in effect through the end of August. The entire project is nearly done and will wrap up in the fall.
