Xerox told around 175 employees in Webster today that they’re about to be out of a job.

The company says the warehouse in Building 214 and the Webster Spares Distribution Center will be closing. Most of the products handled by the distribution center will be taken over by with Ryder, a third party contractor who will distribute them from their main site in Indiana.

Company spokesman Bill McKee says the staff reductions are part of the company’s “strategic transformation…to improve efficiency and flexibility.”

The layoffs will begin in September and are expected to be completed by March, 2018.
