Rochester drops second straight to the Woo Sox, 12-1.

WORCESTER, MA. – The Worcester Red Sox slugged their way past the Rochester Red Wings, 12-1, Friday night to even the series at two games apiece.

Luis Garcia gave the Wings the early lead hitting the first pitch of the game over the left field fence.

But, it was all Woo Sox from there. Worcester hit homers in the first, second and fifth innings to take a 4-1 lead.

Franchy Cordero’s second homer of the night, a three-run blast to center in the eighth, made it 12-1 Worcester.

The Wings (8-20) collected just two hits after the Garcia leadoff homer.

Rogelio Armenteros suffered the loss allowing four runs on eight hits – including three homers. The righty did strike out seven against no walks.

Red Wings infielder Brandon Snyder was called on to pitch in the eighth inning and struck out Johan Mieses.

The Wings and Sox play game five of their six-game series Saturday evening.
