A woman is in guarded condition at Strong Memorial Hospital after being struck by a hit-and-run driver on Penfield Road.
Jessica Fox was walking in the snowstorm along Penfield Road just east of Salt Road, carrying a can of gas she’d just bought to rescue her boyfriend’s stranded car. She was walking back to the car which was stuck in front of 2691 Penfield Road when she was hit by an unknown vehicle and flung some 25 feet into the ditch.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says the 45-year-old woman was conscious and told first responders what happened. The accident happened about 5:20 Thursday evening.
The investigation is ongoing.
