A Rochester mother was shot to death Friday afternoon in front of her young children as she sat in a car on Garden Street near Clarissa Street in the Corn Hill Neighborhood.
The mother, a woman in her 30s, was dead at the scene. The children, ages three and eight, were not injured, but Rochester Police Chief Cynthia Herriott-Sullivan said will likely never be able to forget what they saw.
Herriott-Sullivan said children that age should be worrying about “where your teddy bear is or what your snack’s going to be…not wrrying about dodging bullegts or watching your mom die right in front of you.” The children were with police counselors.
Herriott-Sullivan said she hopes someone who also has young children and knows who did this will come forward and give police the information they need to solve the case. Police promised an intensive investigation through the weekend.
