A Rochester woman has been sentenced to two years in prison for attempting to smother a child at the Golisano Children’s Hospital earlier this year.
29-year-old Jennifer Hodge pleaded guilty last month to second-degree strangulation. She admitted to suffocating the 18-month-old while the child was a patient at the hospital. The child lost consciousness, but survived.
A UR Medicine representative said Hodge was a hospital visitor and knew the child.
