A Rochester woman charged with murder in the shooting death of a city man was convicted of manslaughter instead.
Martha Jones was accused of shooting Micah Welch in the leg with a rifle last July. Welch bled out and died at the scene. Her attorneys said she did not intend to kill him.
District Attorney Sandra Doorley Tweeted that it was an unwarranted death. Jones will be sentenced next month.
