Here we go with round two: The National Weather Service has put Rochester and points west to the state line under a high wind warning, from noon today until 11:00 p.m. This covers Monroe, Orleans, Niagara, Erie, Genesee, Wyoming and Chautauqua Counties.
Meteorologists say this will be about 50 to 60 percent of the March Windstorm, with southwest winds of 20 to 30 miles per hour, gusting to 55 or 60. It will be enough to down shallow rooted trees, especially because the ground is soft from all the recent rainfall. Power line damage is also a possibility.
