Last night’s high winds…gusting to a peak of 58 miles per hour at the airport…caused more than 2,000 Rochester Gas and Electric customers to lose service Tuesday night and early Wednesday.
That was down to about 900 by late morning, and RG&E said they hoped to have everything back by early afternoon. The City of Rochester, Greece and Irondequoit were hard hit. In some cases trees were blown down, taking down utility poles.
Officials decided to close The Seneca Park Zoo today because ice coated the public walkways, driveways and the parking lot.
