Keith Williams, the man accused of stabbing Rochester Police Officer Denny Wright, rejected a plea deal on Wednesday and will go on trial in April.
Officer Wright was responding to a domestic call on Peck Street in 2019 when Wright stabbed him repeatedly, blinding the officer.
Wright said Wednesday that he always believed the case would go to trial, although he’d like to have it over.
Williams was found competent to stand trial in August of 2020. A plea offer was made in November that would have seen him serve 25 years in prison.
