A hearing on the proposed Whole Foods Center on Monroe Avenue in Brighton drew an overflow crowd last night as the issue of traffic congestion got another airing.
The development at Monroe and Clover immediately raised concerns about the traffic through that area, and changes planned by the Daniele family which owns the land haven’t headed them off.
The Danieles said they’ve dropped plans to have exits from the new plaza onto Clover Street and Allens Creek Road; ideas that were opposed by area homeowners. Residents at the hearing were unconvinced that the exits will stay off the table.
Many speakers asked for a project on a smaller scale.
