The Wheatland-Chili Central School District has alerted families to a suspicious incident at a student’s home.
A man arrived at a student’s home about 3:00 Tuesday afternoon, identified himself as a school employee and asked to take the student on a field trip. Family members told the man to leave and called police.
The district says it would never send a person in an attempt to remove a student from home, and asks anyone who receives such a request to call law enforcement.
The man was described as Caucasian, in his early 40s, about 5-foot-seven and 200 pounds. He was balding and wore brown-rimmed glasses, a jean jacket, gray pants and black dress boots. He identified himself as James Marlborough and drove a dark gray Honda Civic.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
