A large warehouse on Rochester’s West Side was destroyed by fire Monday night. The warehouse on Otis Street near Lyell Avenue was used to store wooden pallets. It was reported in flames about 5:45 p.m.
Fire crews found some of the pallets had caught fire and spread flames to the rest of the building. Three walls and a roof caved in, and the remains have been demolished.
One firefighter was injured and was taken to the hospital for treatment. Some of the surrounding residents were evacuated due to concerns over heat exposure.
