Drivers who use the Lake Ontario State Parkway between Route 19 in Hamlin and Payne Beach Road in Parma will find single-lane traffic through the end of September while the parkway is being paved.
They’re resurfacing the rough road with a technique called “heater scarification” that essentially melts and smooths out the asphalt in place. It takes a long train of specialized equipment that moves about 15 feet a minute.
Crews will be out working from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Mondays through Saturday. The job will take two to three weeks beginning in mid September.
