Students in the City of Rochester and the remaining suburban districts went back to school today.
Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren and Superintendent Barbara Deane-Williams greeted students in the morning at school 17 in the JOSANA neighborhood. It’s one of the city’s “Beacon Schools” that’s trying to get Rochester back to “neighborhood schools” and offering services to both children and the surrounding community.
The mayor is also calling on the community to rally around children, be a mentor and a role model, and read to young children at night.
