Both Wegmans and Tops Markets are installing plexiglass shields at their checkout stations to protect cashiers from coronavirus infection.
Wegmans has already rolled out the barriers at stores in Henrietta and Chili, and Tops says it will begin installing them today (Thurs).
Tops says where the shields can’t be fitted for one reason or another, they will supply the cashiers with protective face shields which will also be worn by pharmacy and customer service associates.
