Wegmans Markets has launched a voluntary recall of some Wegmans Original Killer Brownies with Pecans….because the manufacturer accidentally put them in the wrong cartons.
Instead of pecans, they’re peanut butter brownies, and could trigger an allergic reaction in people with peanut allergies. Wegmans has found more than half of them and gotten them off the shelves, but the rest had already been sold.
Original Killer Brownies are sold pre-packaged in plastic clamshells or individually in the self-serve cookie bars at Wegmans stores. In the Rochester area the affected lots were sold at eight locations:
- Eastway
- Holt Rd.
- Latta Rd. and Long Pond
- Lyell Ave. in Gates
- Marketplace
- Mt. Read Blvd in Greece
- Perinton
- Pittsford
The “Best By” dates are March 21 through April 5th only.
Nobody is known to have gotten sick because of this, but Wegmans says please bring them back for a refund.
