A 19-year-old Webster man has a date in Bristol Town Court after crashing his car while trying to run from Ontario County Deputies. He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital after the crash on Route 64 in Bristol.
Ian Mercurio was charged with unlawfully fleeing from a police officer, reckless driving and speeding. His car was also unregistered, uninspected and uninsured.
The sheriff’s office says a deputy spotted Mercurio doing 99 miles per hour in a 40 mile zone on Route 64 in Bristol. He took off when the deputy tried to stop him, but went out of control when he tried to pass another car on the right.
Mercurio’s car went into a ditch, hit a driveway embankment, went airborne and flipped over several times before finally landing back on the road.
