A Webster Schroeder student has been charged with making a threat against the school on Snapchat. Police were notified about the threatening message on Saturday by the Webster Central School District.
In a letter to parents, Webster Schroeder Principal Paul Benz said the student sent another student a picture of himself holding what appeared to be a gun, along with a written message threatening the school community.
A concerned parent brought the post to the school’s attention, and they called police.
Webster Police say 18-year-old Bernardo Melendez Jr was charged with making a terroristic threat, which is a felony.
