Webster police have arrested a man whom they say recklessly fired off a gun, hitting a woman and a young person who were standing nearby.
The incident happened Saturday morning, and police arrested 28-year-old Trevon Whitfield after the victims went to Rochester General Hospital seeking treatment. Police say the woman was shot in the buttocks and the juvenile was hit in the leg. Both are recovering.
Whitfield is charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child. He was previously convicted of robbery, and not allowed to possess a firearm. A search of his home in Webster turned up additional guns and ammunition.
