A Webster man has been charged with attempting to send indecent material to a minor and endangering the welfare of a child after using an smartphone app to contact a 15-year-old girl.
The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office says 41-year-old Jason Korts was arrested after a week long investigation.
They say he allegedly used an app called “Whisper” to contact the Livingston County girl and met with her this past week. Her parents contacted law enforcement after finding out about it. Investigators took the girl’s phone and continued the conversation with Korts, setting up another meeting. But this time, Korts was arrested when he showed up.
Korts is being held pending arraignment. Investigators are still working the case and more charges are possible.
