The attempt by parents and teachers to keep the Webster Christian School open has failed.
The School sent a letter to parents a month ago telling them declining enrollment and a projected $300,000 deficit meant the Webster Bible Church wouldn’t reopen the school in the fall. Parents and teachers started an online funding campaign and drew up plans to save money by restructuring the school. The Church agreed to keep the school open if they could get 100 students enrolled for the fall semester.
Now a message on the Facebook page set up for the effort says it has fallen short. It reads “Due to lack of sustained support from parents and administration, the campaign to save the school has been suspended.”
