The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office has charged a Palmyra woman with Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Reckless Endangerment after her baby nearly drowned in a bathtub.
Deputies said they were called on Saturday evening to a home on Conifer Drive for a report of an unresponsive child. They found an eight-month-old who wasn’t breathing. A neighbor ran to start CPR before EMS personnel arrived. The baby was taken to a hospital.
Investigators say they arrested 24-year-old Samantha Thomas after determining the child had been left alone in the tub. She’s been released on her own recognizance pending an appearance in court.
