The Wayne County Sheriff says no charges were filed against a Lyons man after a series of animal cruelty complaints were made against him.
Sheriff Barry Virts and District Attorney Mike Calarco said a video posted on social media drew attention to the dogs of Robert Juliano Jr, which were outside in the cold during the recent arctic temperatures. The video got hundreds of shares and mentions on the internet, generating hundreds of calls to the sheriff’s office.
Sheriff VIrts says several visits were made to the home, and the dogs were found to be in good health, with no signs of frostbite or emaciation. Shelter was also available, although the sheriff says they’d rather see better shelter.
Sheriff Virts says the animals were in no imminent danger, so they educated the owner about being a more responsible pet owner and will follow up to make sure the dogs are all licensed and vaccinated.
