A young Wayne County couple has been arrested after the woman allegedly left her three-year-old child with her boyfriend, knowing he was drunk.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office has charged 22-year-old Kaitlyn Zimmerman and 25-year-old Rodrigo Morales with Endangering the Welfare of a Child. They allege that Zimmerman called 911 for help early Tuesday morning…then denied making the call and hung up when the 911 center called back.
Deputies went to the source of the call and saw Morales walking near the home. He ran away when he saw the officers and left the toddler alone. They found him possession of cocaine and charged him accordingly. Zimmerman was eventually pulled over while driving near the house and charged with child endangerment. The couple’s son has been turned over to a family member.
