Governor Cuomo told Watkins Glen officials this morning that they’ve won a $10 million Downtown Revitalizatiion grant from New York’s economic development program.
Econ Development head Howard Zemsky says the Watkins Glen revitalization plan hit all the state’s markers, including tourism development, housing development and small business restoration in downtown. He says the state’s $10 million will leverage $100 million in private investment for the village.
The governor, who’s a known car nut, took a couple of 110 mile per hour laps on the Watkins Glen track behind a pace car before the news conference.
