Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren moved to close a near-$48 million revenue gap by dipping into the city’s fund balance, keeping the proposed tax increase for city homeowners to less than two percent.
The mayor’s budget, introduced today, also invests in new neighborhood police section offices and maintains fire and police services at current levels.
Warren’s 2018-2019 budget adds up to just over $539.6 million, up about $2.5 million or two-and-a-half-percent from the current city budget. Homeowner taxes and fees will go up by about $43 on average.
Warren says the budget puts $59 million into needed public infrastructure upgrades and in new police and fire recruit classes.
