Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren on Saturday replaced Rochester’s acting police chief with an interim chief, naming Cynthia Herriott-Sullivan interim chief as of October 14th.
Mark Simmons will continue to serve as acting chief until then.
Herriott-Sullivan is an RPD retiree, leaving in 2009 with the rank of lieutenant after spending more than 20 years with the department. She worked for the Rochester Housing Authority from 2016 to present.
Warren also promoted RPD Captain Gabriel Person to Deputy Chief of Operations, and named Officer Moses Robinson to the command staff.
