The Walnut Hill Farm Driving Competition is no more…closing down after 46 years. The organizers say the 2017 competition was the last.

Walnut Hill grew from a small group of horse-and-carriage driving enthusiasts who met in 1972 to a five-day, internationally-recognized carriage driving competition that became the largest event of is type in the nation. It operated under the auspices of the Pittsford Carriage Association.

Now PCA President Tricia Remley-White, the daughter of the late co-founders, says all good things must come to an end. She says it’s been an amazing 46 years and they’ve been proud to host thousands of carriage competitors for the love and sport of driving horses. But she says they wanted to go out on a high note, and that’s what they’re doing.
