For the first time in two years, New Yorkers have a favorable view of how Governor Cuomo is doing his job.
A Siena Poll of New Yorkers finds 60 percent of registered voters now rate the governor positive on job performance and favorability. And for the first time, half of all voters say they’d elect him to a third term.
Meanwhile, President Trump doesn’t rate too highly among all New York voters. He has a negative 36-to-59 percent favorability. Only 29 percent rate Trump “positive” so far.
Pollster Steve Greenberg says more than three-fourths of New York voters support Cuomo’s proposal to extend the millionaire’s tax and to extend ridesharing services Uber and Lyft statewide. Greenberg says he can’t tell if Cuomo is looking better in comparison with President Trump…or voters are just reacting to a few months without a new Albany corruption scandal.
