Rochester Police are investigating three violent incidents that all took place within a half hour last night, all apparently unrelated.
Officers were called for a large fight at the corner of East Main and Arch Streets about 8:30 Monday evening. While en route, they learned people had been stabbed and taken away in a private car. That car showed up at the Rochester General Hospital Emergency Department with two victims.
Police say they’re a 16-year-old boy and his 29-year-old sister, both suffering from stab wounds in the upper body. Both victims are in serious but stable condition.
Police are still investigating the fight and there are no arrests yet.
The two other incidents both occurred at 9:00 p.m. Officers investigating a report of gunshots at the corner of Lyell Avenue and Child Street were approached by a wounded 24-year-old man who’d been shot several times in the lower body. He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital and is expected to recover.
The third incident happened at 22 Kelly Street, where investigating officers found a man who had been beaten in a fight. Police say the 45-year-old man had a severe head injury caused by a blunt object and was lying on the sidewalk. He was also taken to Strong Memorial, where he’s in serious condition.
No arrests have been made yet in either incident and the investigations continue.
