Monroe County Sheriff-BadgeThe Monroe County Medical Examiner has now identified both victims of yesterday’s fatal motorcycle crash in Perinton.

The ME’s Office says the driver of the motorcycle was 27-year-old Adam Mateo of Canandaigua. He was killed instantly when an SUV trying to turn left on a yellow light hit the motorcycle. Both Mateo and passenger Meghan Orbaker of Palmyra were thrown from the bike by the crash. Orbaker died several hours later in the hospital.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says witnesses have described the motorcycle speeding up, trying to beat the light, when it was hit on Route 31 near the Perinton Wegmans.

The SUV driver suffered minor injuries and his passenger wasn’t hurt. The crash is still being investigated.
