A van slammed into the back of a tractor-trailer rig that had pulled to the side of the road on Route 441 in Penfield early Wednesday morning.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened about 1:30 in the morning at Linear Park Drive and 441. The driver, a 49-year-old Florida man, wasn’t hurt. The van driver was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital and is expected to recover. He’s a 32-year-old Rochester man.
The van driver was trapped in the wreck for about 20 minutes until pried out by Penfield firefighters.
The van driver was issued a speeding ticket, and the truck driver was cited for three transportation law violations .
Route 441 reopened in time for the morning rush.
