Monroe County Health Commissioner Dr. Mike Mendoza says by Monday, the county will have used up its supply of the COVID-19 vaccines with no good idea of when to expect more.
In a news conference with County Executive Adam Bello, both men said they don’t control the supply or availability of the vaccine. They say they’re doing what they can, which is to set up a network of vaccination sites around the county to be ready when the supply increases. Clinics are being set up at the Convention Center in downtown Rochester and at the Dome Center in Henrietta for vaccinations. Trillium Health in Rochester is also setting up a mobile vaccination clinic for those without cars or primary care doctors.
The short supply of the vaccine and the overwhelming demand combine to make it nearly impossible to get through to the state’s COVID Hotline (1-866-881-2809).
