The University of Rochester has received a $1.5 million Department of Health and Human Services grant to fund both its HIV-AIDS research and its efforts at suicide prevention.
Congresswoman Louise Slaughter says she’s also using this as an occasion to oppose President Trump’s Fiscal 2018 budget plan, which would slash such funding by nearly 20 percent.
The URMC is a national leader in AIDS vaccine research and is home to the National Center for the Study and Prevention of Suicide.
