Officials at the University of Rochester Medical Center cut the ribbon today on the new Integrative Oncology & Wellness Center, a facility designed to improve the quality of life for chemotherapy patients.
The center provides a range of therapies and programs including yoga, massage and acupuncture to help patients with the side effects of their cancer therapies. Pain, anxiety, stress and nausea not only disrupt patient lives, but can also be severe enough to interfere with treatment.
THe new center founded by the Wilmot Cancer Institute and the Pluta Cancer Foundation is the first of its kind in the region.
