A lawsuit filed by a doctor in State Supreme Court accuses a prominent University of Rochester Medical Center professor of raping her, and attempting to involve her boyfriend in murdering his ex-wife.
According to the Democrat and Chronicle, Katia Kaplan-List was a medical resident at Strong Memorial Hospital, where she claims she was assaulted by Johan Blickman, vice chair of the URMC’s Department of Imaging Sciences. According to her lawsuit, Blickman invited her to his house in 2014, then drugged and raped her. She claims he blackmailed her with nude photos, coerced her to have sex with him and met with her boyfriend in an attempt to involve him in in a plot to kill his ex-wife.
The URMC says it first learned of an inappropriate relationship between Kaplan-List and the professor in 2016 and took action at that time. A university spokesman says the URMC is aware of the new complaint, that Dr. Blickman is on leave since mid-January and that the new allegations are under review.
Blickman did not respond to a request for comment.
