University of Rochester student Lindsay Wrobel has ended her hunger strike after six days. She Tweets that with the launch of a new investigation into sexual harassment charges, and confirmed student representation on the investigation committee, her action is over.
Wrobel launched her hunger strike last week, after group of 11 female professors, current and former students filed federal equal employment complaints against the university. They complained that Dr. Florian Jaeger created a toxic environment in the Department of Brain Science, accusing him of stalking, and of pressuring students to share drugs and have sex. They said the university botched its original investigation into their claims.
Dr. Jaeger has been placed on administrative leave at the same time the UR’s Board of Trustees ordered the new investigation.
