The University of Rochester says the parties who filed EEOC complaints about a University of Rochester professor have informed the Board of Trustees they won’t cooperate with the Board’s independent investigation of their sexual assault allegations. But the professors who filed the complaints say that’s not true.
Dr. Celeste Kidd, one of the current and former professors who filed the complaints against Dr. Florian Jaeger, tells 13 WHAM their concern is not to threaten their chance of filing suit against the university by talking to the investigative committee at this time.
The Board says in a statement that the complainants gave that notice in a letter to the Special Committee headed by lawyer and former federal prosecutor Mary Jo White. The Board’s statement says they hope the complainants reconsider.
Dr. Richard Aslin, another of the professors who filed a complaint, says they’ve offered the investigation alternatives to speaking with them directly and they hope White will agree with them.
