University of Rochester football team quarterback and two of his friends are being honored by New York State Police today for their actions in taking down a purse snatcher in Lockport.
Dan Bronson, his girlfriend, and his girlfriend’s brother and her father were in the parking lot of a Lockport restaurant November 5th when Bronson saw someone snatch a purse from an elderly woman who walked out of the restaurant behind them. Bronson, Patrick Ellinger and Patrick Ellinger II gave chase. Bronson ran down and tackled the suspect, and all three men held him until police got there.
Troopers charged 31-year-old Matthew Biles of Lockport with third degree robbery. They say he did the same thing to another woman the night before, breaking her arm in the process.
