Rochester police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened this morning near the corner of Sherman and Otis Streets on the West Side. It was the second shooting in that part of the city in two days.
Police say the victim was shot on Otis Street, in the driveway of a house across from School #54. Parents trying to get there were held back by police. The school was put into lockout, but the City School District says all the students are safe.
The victim was sitting on a motorcycle when he was shot.
Another man was shot in the same area early yesterday. Police were called shortly before 1:00 a.m. Thursday for a report of a man shot at 223 Sherman Street. They found the 34-year-old victim shot in the lower body. He’s in critical condition at Strong Memorial Hospital.
