The 61-year-old Rochester woman who pulled out into the path of a motorcycle on Dewey Avenue yesterday evening has been ticketed for making an unsafe U-turn.

The woman, whose name has not been released, pulled into traffic going north and immediately tried to make a U-turn to head south on Dewey. As she did so, a northbound motorcycle was unable to stop and plowed into her driver’s side door. The 28-year-old Gates man riding the bike was killed instantly and the woman was injured and taken to Strong Memorial Hospital.

Dewey Avenue was closed for several hours next to Aquinas Institute while police investigated the accident, which happened about 6:00 p.m.
