Rochester police and firefighters closed off a section of Ridgeway Avenue Monday night after a citizen reported smelling gasoline around a vacant brick building.
Firefighters entered the building at 401 Ridgeway and found what a spokeswoman called “unknown devices.” They called in the RPD’s bomb squad and police directed neighbors to shelter in place.
The bomb squad sent a robot into the building and police were trying to contact the building’s owner Monday night.
