University of Rochester President Joel Seligman says some….. but not all….. Department of Public Safety officers will be armed. Seligman says he’s adopting an advisory report and will arm 38 officers who secure the medical center and Strong Hospital , 24-seven. 
Four senior officers of the Department of Public Safety, specifically the Chief, Deputy Chief, Patrol Commander, and Commander of Investigations will also be armed. Seligman is also creating a Public Safety Review Board to investigate any misuse of weapons on campus.
These changes will be coming over the next several months.
