Some University of Rochester graduate students say they will mount union organizing drive….now that a National Labor Relations Board ruling has given grad students at Columbia the right to form a union.
The NLRB overturned a Bush Administration ruling that held graduate students were not university employees and couldn’t join a labor organization. The Service Employees International Union is now working on union organizing drives at campuses across the nation, including in North Carolina, Illinois and Missouri.
The University of Rochester students say they’ll formally announce their plans tomorrow (Tues.)
