The Buffalo Bills will have quarterback Josh Allen under center for the foreseeable future.

But why not get a quarterback behind him that mirrors him?

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Bills have invited University at Buffalo quarterback Tyree Jackson to their local pro day workouts on Friday.

Entering his second season in 2019, Allen, a 6-foot-5, 237 pounder with mobility, notched 2,074 passing yards, ten touchdowns, 12 interceptions and a 52.8 completion percentage as a rookie. On the ground, Allen led the Bills with 631 rushing yards with another eight touchdowns as well.

Jackson, a 6-foot-7, 249-pound prospect, has already shown his mobility at the NFL level, sort of. At his stature, Jackson ran a 4.59 second, 40-yard dash time at the combine.

Like Allen, Jackson enters the NFL viewed more as a strong-armed, project QB. However, unlike Allen, he’s not expected to be the seventh-overall selection. Instead, Jackson will likely be a Day 3 pick.

In 2018 with the Bulls, Jackson tossed 3,131 yards with 28 touchdowns, 12 interceptions and a completion percentage of 55.3 percent.

Allen and Jackson do already have a working relationship as well, as both have worked out together with noted QB coach Jordan Palmer during this offseason.
