U.S. Attorney James Kennedy, Jr will meet on Wednesday with Rochester Police Chief Cynthia Herriott-Sullivan and Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley; then on Thursday with their counterparts from Buffalo.

On the table: what federal authorities can do to help both cities combat their problems with a surge of street violence this summer.

Kennedy says based on what’s decided at both those meetings, he will convene a meeting of federal law enforcement agency heads so they can fine-tune their strategy to tamp down on the shootings. He says the decisions will be publicly announced next week.
